Hello there! Nice to meet you…

I’m Shay – a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, community herbalist and somatic practitioner here to help you understand your body and feel at home again. My approach is based on ancestral nutrition to support the gut, metabolism, hormones, while creating space for a diet-free approach so your nervous system feels safe.

I am all about empowering you to rekindle the relationship with your own inner voice, the intuitive and gut-instinct that wants to be heard. When we’ve been living too long in dysregulation, it’s easy to get mixed or missed messages. I’m here to help you interpret, and move forward, not as a guru, but a guide, ready to meet you where you’re at.

My Story —

My story is a holistic one — and it’s not exactly linear. Like many of the women I now support, my relationship with my body, food, and health has been anything but simple.

It started before I was even seven years old. Growing up in a slightly bigger (but still very normal) body in the late 90s skewed my sense of worth and body image from the start. I got my period early, and with it came intense PMS — pain in my thighs that made me want to cry, mood swings, exhaustion — and no one really knew what to do with it. I was also diagnosed with GERD before age 10 and handed a prescription with no context. We didn’t understand how processed food, stress, and environment impacted the gut — we just did what we were told.

By my teens, I was living with gut issues, a dysregulated appetite, problematic mental health issues and behaviors, emotional eating, extreme PMS, and deep disconnection from my body.

I turned to coping strategies like self-harm, binge eating, and substance use to numb myself. It was my way of surviving — of regulating emotions I didn’t have the tools or support to face.

In my 20s, things began to shift. I found strength training, became curious about wellness, worked in supplement stores, and dabbled in plant-based diets — pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan. I looked healthy on the outside but underneath, my nervous system was still in overdrive. I was constantly trying to fix myself with “health,” but never really slowing down to listen. I was disconnected from my cycle, my cravings, my intuition.

And eventually, I crashed.

The Turning Point

Burnout came hard.

For three straight months, I was numb, anxious, exhausted, and couldn’t feel anything but fear. I dissociated from my body, I had melt-down panic attacks and I didn’t know why. I thought my body was diseased and dying.

But it forced me to slow down. I began nourishing myself deeply for the first time — with real food, rest, and presence.

I stopped outsourcing health to diet rules and started learning how to trust my body again. I quit veganism and learned about ancestral, pro-metabolic seasonal eating. I got back into rhythm with the natural world, with my own body clock, and with who I really am.

Despite gaining back weight I once obsessed over losing, I felt more grounded, whole, and safe in my body than ever before. I realized that true health isn’t about a perfect diet or routine — it’s about how you feel in your body, how you respond to stress, how connected you are to your inner cues.

Now, I guide women through the same type of transformation:

one that supports digestion, hormones, metabolism, and nervous system regulation — without the noise of diet culture.

Through the VYTA Method, we focus on seasonal nourishment, circadian rhythm, somatic awareness, and rebuilding body trust.

Because I’ve lived through the bloating, the fatigue, the PMS, the food guilt, the burnout and the confusion — and I know there’s a gentler, wiser way through it.

Fun facts about me!

What’s one health myth you used to believe?

That veganism or plant based diets are optimal for health. This was a radical perspective shift when I started doing deeper research before breaking my veganism.

What’s your human design type and do you resonate with it?

⅓ Projector, and I absolutely resonate with it. The ⅓ line showing up as an investigator/martyr, or researcher and experimenter. Yep, 110%

What’s your current non-negotiable morning ritual?

Not rushing for anything. Giving myself time. I always prioritize breakfast or at least a balanced snack, along with a warm drink and just… easing into being awake.

What's your sun/moon/rising?

Virgo/Taurus/Leo. I’m very down to earth, practical, and I enjoy my luxuries. I also have a fiery streak that comes out when I get pushed too far.

Coffee order (and are you team butter/cream/raw milk)?

Almost always a small latte, though I’m gearing toward matcha, chai, or earl gray lattes these days.

Big YES to raw dairy!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give your 20-year-old self?

Don’t give up, and stop taking in other people’s expectations of you. Follow your own heart. You’re closer than you think. You’re more beautiful than you think. You’re wiser than you know. Embrace being you.
